FAKE PHOTOS OF MAHATHMA GANDHI IN FACEBOOK

We amazed by the regular appearance of certain black and white photos in my feed, which claim to be of historic events or personalities. None of these photos are authentic. Surprisingly, the people who share them around don't even bother to verify their authenticity.
The above pictures are popular in facebook about a month in facebook.Too many of users share this kind of
pictures and too many think that this are real life incidents and this can be taken as an example for social media drawbacks.

GODSE SHOOT
Latest in the list is a photo of Nathuram Godse, about to shoot Gandhi. Actually, it's a still from a 1963 movie called "Nine Hours to Rama", which was based on Nathuram Godse's life.
Here's the imdb link:http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0057362/

DANCING GANDHI
Last but not the least - the "Dancing Gandhi". I'm not sure, how many of us know this?
This supposed image of Gandhi dancing with some white woman travelled from hate groups

(Anti-Gandhi to Anti-India) with comments about 'Mastikhor Ayyash Gandhi' to liberal groups with 'O! he could dance!' remarks.
The basically ended up going viral. If it managed to reach my high wall, it must be really viral, that's my rule.
It took me one google image search query to find that the image is actually of an Australian artist impersonating Gandhi for some charity event held in Sydney for India back in those days.

HANGING FREEDOM FIGHTERS
Few days back, ultra-patriotic Indian facebook users were circulating another "pre-1947" photo of two Indian freedom fighters being hanged in public by British police.
The photo originally was of two african american person being lynched by a white racist. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:ThomasShippAbramSmith.jpg)

SHARE THIS AND PROTECT OUR "FATHER OF NATION" FROM THIS KIND OF FAKE VIRAL ATTACKS.BE A GOOD SOCIAL MEDIA USER.
