• Its durable cover not only helps protect your keyboard from scratches but also quickly converts into a tablet stand. When you’re done using it, simply snap the cover back on the keyboard to power it down before you stash it in your bag.

• Bluetooth technology lets you wirelessly connect to your tablet without a cable or transceiver.

• Pricing: estimated retail price of US$79.95.

Wedge Touch Mouse
Microsoft Wedge Touch Mouse packs full functionality into an ultracompact frame that’s great for a mobile lifestyle. Small enough to fit in your pocket, the Wedge Touch Mouse is designed to complement your Windows experience in all its forms, providing four-way touch scrolling and navigation at your fingertips.

The Wedge Touch Mouse, meanwhile, is a tiny piece of distinctly-shaped technology which also makes use of Bluetooth and Microsoft's BlueTrack technology. But what hides beneath the buttons is a touch-sensitive surface which allows you to scroll up and down through the Metro UI. Additionally, a minor, but smart feature of the mouse revolves around the battery compartment: once you open its spring-loaded cover with the push of the button, you can't latch it again unless the battery is placed in the right direction. It's a little thing, but so, so ingenious.• Its artful and minimalist design also comes free of cables or USB transceivers — you simply turn it on and connect it to your Bluetooth-enabled laptop or tablet for a clutter-free experience.

• It features BlueTrack Technology so you can use it on virtually any surface, whether you’re in a conference room, a coffee shop or at home on your couch.*

HISTORY OF COMPUTER DATA STORAGE A STAGE BY STAGE PICTORIAL PRESENTATION

From the beginning of mankind, man tried to find a way to store information for the following generations. When people nowadays hear the word storage or computer storage they normally think aboutCD Rom, USB key or DVD. Things like the floppy disk or the punch card are nearly forgotten. In fact, the history of information storage goes back to pre-historic times where mankind used red and yellow ochre, hematite, manganese oxide and charcoal to paint information about their life on rock walls, caves and ceilings.
Nowadays we are used to having hundreds of gigabytes of storage capacity in our computers. Even tiny MP3 players and other handheld devices usually have several gigabytes of storage. This was pure science fiction only a few decades ago. For example, the first hard disk drive to have gigabyte capacity was as big as a refrigerator, and that was in 1980. Not so long ago!
Pingdom stores a lot of monitoring data every single day, and considering how much we take today’s storage capacity for granted, it’s interesting to look back and get things in perspective.
Here is a look back at some interesting storage devices from the early computer era.

The Selectron tube
The Selectron tube had a capacity of 256 to 4096 bits (32 to 512 bytes). The 4096-bit Selectron was 10 inches long and 3 inches wide. Originally developed in 1946, the memory storage device proved expensive and suffered from production problems, so it never became a success.

Cellphone Batteries To Recharge In 15 Minutes

Washington: Scientists are closer to developing a cellphone battery that will take just 15 minutes to recharge and last more than a week.

A team of Northwestern University engineers created an electrode for lithium-ion batteries, used in cellphones and iPods, that allows holding a charge up to ten times greater than current technology.

Batteries with the new electrode also can charge 10 times faster than current batteries, the journal Advanced Energy Materials reported. A journal named Advanced Energy Materials reported that cell phone batteries with the fresh electrode can charge more than 10 times faster than the batteries we use at present.

'We have found a way to extend a new lithium-ion battery's charge life by ten times,' said Harold H. Kung, researcher, a university statement said.

In a university statement, Harold H. Kung, a researcher, said,

“We have found a way to extend a new lithium-ion battery’s charge life by ten times.”

“Even after 150 charges, which would be one year or more of operation, the battery is still five times more effective than lithium-ion batteries on the market today,” added Kung.

Researchers combined two chemical engineering approaches to address two major battery limitations - energy capacity and charge rate.

Besides better batteries for cellphones and iPods, the technology could pave the way for more efficient, smaller batteries for electric cars.

However, users have to wait more than two years to utilize the technology, said the researchers.
